LG Enlighten smartphone data counter error: connecting loop

The My Verizon data counter app that came with my phone hasn't worked since the day I activated it. All the counter says is connecting and when I try to log into my account I get a message that My Verizon cannot display prepaid account info.
Anyone else having this error?
