ALL EVERYONE NEED'S TO DO IS..... 1) TAKE A DEEP BREATH 2) GO AHEAD & THANK ME NOW
THE FIX IS QUITE SIMPLE, THERE IS NO WAITING FOR 4 HOURS FOR IT TO MAYBE DO SOMETHING WHILE CONNECTED TO A COMPUTER. DON'T BOTHER FIGHTING WITH MULTIPLE CORDS OR OUTLETS.
HERE IT IS THE FIX TO SOLVE ALL G PAD 8.3 LTE CUSTOMER FRUSTRATIONS,.............
1- HAVE THE ORIGINAL CHARGER OR ANY OTHER QUALITY MICRO USB CABLE PLUGGED IN AND READY TO GO
2- WHILE THE TABLET IS NOT PLUGGED INTO THE CHARGER HOLD DOWN THE POWER BUTTON FOR ABOUT 10 SECONDS.
3- WHILE STILL HOLDING THE POWER BUTTON DOWN PLUG IN THE CHARGER AND THEN GO AHEAD AND RELEASE THE POWER BUTTON.
4-WITHIN 5 SECONDS YOU SHOULD SEE THE BATTERY SYMBOL POP UP, FROM THERE THE BEAST IS BACK GIVE IT SOME TIME TO CHARGE AND JUST LIKE THAT, SHE LIVES!!!!!

Hi Ruthdialtan,
Oh no! I know how frustrating it can be to have a device that will not power on. Are you using the original charger that came in the box with the device? Has there been any liquid or physical damage to the device? Does the device have a case on it?
Thanks,

I'm sorry you're having issues with your tablet ssnowandsurf . I know its frustrating. I recommend checking the charging port on your tablet to ensure its not loose or damaged. Are there any problematic apps on your tablet? If so, when you are able to turn it on, remove those to check if that will resolve the issue. Keep us posted.

If the tablet won't turn on, and it won't charge, how am I to check the apps? That doesn't make sense.

You should adjust the battery level that the tablet shuts off at.

I am having the same problem. My battery discharged because of non-use. It will not recharge, will not turn on. I've only had my LG 8.3 LTE tablet since 5/2014. I am using the charger/cable that came with the tablet. The charger/cable is kept in a protective zipped case, so there is no damage to the charger. I have tried 2 different outlets (both working for other things) but my tablet will not recharge.
What is the problem?

Having the same exact problem. What to do? Go into a store to see about warranty info? Where is a number we can call?

wgrrl...I went to the Verizon store this past Friday and they tried charging the tablet with one of their cords and charger. Would not charge. My tablet is still under warranty so the clerk in the store wrote an order (or whatever) and today I received a box from FEDEX with prepaid envelope to sent my tablet to LG electronics for repair or replacement.

Here's how I fixed it. Plug it into a usb port on a computer for about 4
hours. This should bring it back to life.

I'm trying your suggestion, plugging the device into my computer. Approximately how long before I see an icon of some kind, indicating the screen is responsive, or that the charge is "taking" / hope that the device is not "dead"?

I plugged mine into the computer and it turned on right away. Battery was at 100%. What is up with this thing?

Yeah the USB to the laptop worked to get it going. Connected it, powered on to see a 0% battery flash on the screen (whew... something). Then plugged it into the wall, powered on, and its now slowly charging back to life.
Moral of the story... don't get too twisted and leave it at a friends house for days to drain all the way down to 0%. From what others have also commented on you will likely have to do this kind of restart each time the battery completely drains.

I do hope you're able to get your tablet working, wgrrrl. Did the tip from kmapplebeck take care of your concern? When you plug it in, does anything light up or error out? Try also plugging it into a wall charger for about 30 minutes then with it still plugged in, press and hold the power button about 30 seconds.

Mine, which is 3 months old, went down for the count the same way yesterday. Went down to 0% charge and will not charge back up, nor come on. I have 5 Android phones (different makes and models), 4 Android tablets (2 LG, Asus and Samsung) and have used Android since the original Droid years ago.....have never had one act like this. Have used different chargers, attempting to charge for several hours with each. Twice I managed to get it to show me that it was at 0% charge, but it won't even do that any longer. Won't start, won't reset, won't charge....it's now a paperweight.
