LG G6 Software Update Won't Complete

There was a notification on my phone today that a software update (15) was available and asking if I want to download. I said Yes. After the download, I tapped on Install and it started to run, but after a reboot and on install step 1/2 it gives me an error message 0x1124000 and then it reboots without completion. I have tried it several times.

I also tried to run the system updater from my computer, but after the software installs on my computer, the Next button is greyed out and all I can do is cancel.

What can I do to get this update installed?

Thanks.

sbudaj Sorry to learn you are having an issue with the software update. I know we all like the updates as they help with device issues. Let's cover a few basics. Are you running the update using Wi-Fi, and is the battery fully charged? DK

Yes, I am using WiFi and the battery is fully charged and connected to a power source during the attempted update.

Just wanted to let you know that I located the LG Update Utility on the Verizon site and it was able to download and run correctly on my computer and was able to connect to my phone, BUT, it says there is no software update available.

Same here. Downloaded the installer through the phone, but it was no updates available. Meanwhile every morning the phone tries to get me to update it. This is ridiculous.

I do not want to reset my phone and have to reinstall everything. Why won't the update install?

Your update is broken. It's not us.

Msrug, we understand that LG has paused the update and will alert you when it's available. In the meantime is your phone otherwise working normally?

I have run the Software Upgrade Assistant multiple times (including just moments ago). It does locate my device, but each time says that the software in my device is up to date.

sbudaj, your efforts are appreciated. Since your last response, are you still having the issue with downloading the software to your device? What other troubleshooting steps have you tried to resolve this issue?

THIS IS WITHOUT A DOUBT THE WORST RESPONSE TO AN ISSUE MULTIPLE CUSTOMERS ARE HAVING. WE PAY TOP DOLLAR FOR VERIZON SERVICE THE LEAST WE SHOULD EXPECT IS BETTER CUSTOMER CARE AND TECHNICAL ADVICE.

I can understand your concern regarding the software update error. Following a recent software upgrade to SU15(vs98830b) some LG G6 users have received an error message: 0x1124000. The team has paused the software update and no further users will be impacted. This error will not impact device functionality and a future update will be forthcoming. AlbertoR_VZW

TPANFIL,

Following a recent software upgrade to SU15(vs98830b), some LG G6 users have received an error message: 0x1124000. The software update has been paused, and no further users will be impacted; however, some devices may have received that error. Internal teams are investigating, and a future SU will be forthcoming.

Yeah, I did this, and it still wouldn't work stating the update couldn't be completed because my IMEI was not active.  Not sure how to fix this issue as I have had the same phone for almost 3 years and it works just fine. So the update doesnt work on the phone and it doesnt work when using the SUA.  There needed to be better pre work as there are thousands having this same issue.

Tried OTA and PC Installer (note: it doesn't work no matter which cable I use...OG or 3rd Party).

Nothing works.

I resent having to create a profile just to add myself to this stream of all who are having this same issue.  It looks safe to say the problem is not with all of us.  Is a fix for this issue being addressed short of all of us wiping out our existing stuff?  Will it be automatic or will we need to continue following this thread?

BentleyLB,

We always want things to work awesome for you. I'm very sorry for the issues you're having. The developers of this update have paused it for the moment. When it is ready again you will be notified.
