LG G6 terrible reception

Does anyone else have a LG G6 phone that gets awful reception?  Every time we go in a building no matter the size we get no service (at most text messaging).  We have lots of coverage issues in places the Verizon map says has coverage and people with other phones like the Samsung S7 get reception with no issue or a Mifi gets reception with no issue.  We have contacted Verizon support and they told us the one area they looked up is a marginal coverage area (but other phones and mifis work there).  Just wondering if anyone else has had this same issue and found any fix or are LGs antennas just that bad?

I have same problem, my g2,3 and 4 never had any problems but this g6 terrible. Maybe they should concentrate on making the phones work anywhere instead of cameras and useless garbage we dont need. Been LG customer for almost 20 years, im done wont buy another

We're truly sorry to hear that your LG G6 is having problems with signal. Knowing you have been an LG customer for almost 20 years, I can only imagine how upsetting this must be, Friend9034. Let's ensure we find a resolution. May I ask what city and major cross streets you are experiencing service issues at? Are any other Verizon devices near you also having the same issue? Please share details about some of the symptoms you are seeing with the degraded signal as well.

I am so sorry to hear that you are having issues with your device because we really want you to love your phone. In which zip code are you located? Are your voice and data roaming settings turned on? You can check this be going to Settings>Mobile Networks> Data Roaming Access

I can be outside and if I move at all the person I am speaking with says I am breaking up.  I've had Verizon over 10 Yeats and have never experienced this with my other phones at my home.  My wife's Samsung S9 does not have this issue.  If Verizon would allow me to trade, I would.

Losing signal when moving can be a few different factors. Usually this is due to terrain or structures causing small dead spots. If you device has any sort of physical or liquid damage, that can also be a factor. If the issue only happens in some areas and not others, then it is likely the former.

This is not driving down the road, it could be as little as 1 foot inside the house or even outside.

I got this phone a few months ago after breaking my G4. (Loved the G4!!!)

In just the past couple of weeks when I'm talking on it at home I have been dropping calls and getting a "Out of service area" message. It's getting really really old. It just happened 3 times in a matter of 10 minutes so I thought I'd look to see if other people are having this issue.

Where did you get the SIM card from? Did you use the same one that was in your G4?

I believe they gave me a new SIM Card when I purchased this phone. It's a Verizon phone but I bought it at Best Buy.

Stek64, we certainly want you to get great service with us. You would want to remove the old SIM card and make sure that old phone remains off, unless you factory reset the phone or someone else activates it on their line.

What zip code is your home located at? Is the issue with dropped calls only happening when you are indoors? Do you have home Wi-Fi? We ask because that model phone does have Wi-Fi calling available that can help avoid dropped calls when indoors https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/knowledge-base-211145/

I took the SIM card out of the G4; that phone was damaged and can not be activated or powered on again.

Per another suggestion I switched from the Global network to LTE/CDMA, I am still dropping calls.

This just started a couple of weeks ago, I had no issue with the phone for the first few months. My zip code is 48917 and I have only had this issue inside my home at this point.

Thanks for clarifying that you took the SIM card from the G4 device. Please confirm the phone model in which you inserted the SIM card, so that we can provide you with accurate troubleshooting steps.

I would also like to inform you that structural interference and other factors outside of our control can greatly impact indoor service, and we cannot guarantee service inside any building or home. Is your service normal when you step outside your house?

I am not using the SIM card from the G4. Its in a baggie in a drawer.

I received a new SIM card when I purchased the LG G6 that I am having the trouble with.

My husband and I both have Verizon, and neither of us have ever had any trouble with reception in our home. He still doesn't have any issues, but I started having issues in the past couple of weeks. I keep dropping calls and getting a message that says "Out of service area". As of now I haven't had trouble with dropped calls anywhere but our home, but, that is where I use my phone the most.

Have you tried enabling Wi-Fi Calling? This could help with the connection in your home. You do realize that there is no guarantee of connectivity to the cellular network inside of any structure, right?

I just double checked and the G4 still has the SIM card in it.

You should remove the SIM card from the old phone.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

And do what with it? Destroy it?

Check your network settings to make sure that you are on LTE/CDMA and NOT on Global.

I recently bought an unlocked G6 and cellular signal is much weaker than the Moto Z I came from. Text messages don't go through at my house and I never had that problem before with multiple other phones. I'm really disappointed in the radios on this phone. I've tried switching from Global to LTE/CDMA and the signal strength didn't change.
