Like a trusting idiot, I installed the marshmallow update and it deleted/reformatted my SD card and all of my photos and files are gone. How (if possible) can I get them back???? I'm so upset!!!!

There isn't a way unless you had them backed up to Google Photos, Verizon Cloud, Dropbox, etc. Curious what device do you have? Sorry to hear this.

First thing to do is pull the card out of your phone so it doesn't get overwritten. Then you'll need to use a third party recovery software to read the card and see what can be recovered. Unless the update wiped the card, which I doubt it did, you should be able to recover at least some of the data. Might want to try this Recuva - Free Data Recovery tool - Free Download

Thank you! I removed the card. I'll try the program you recommend!
