My hotspot has been working fine since I got the phone. It worked earlier today. Tonight I tried to use it and it didn't respond. I went to settings and it had a load screen reading, "checking subscription" and then said my phone could not connect to the Verizon network. My browser works, I have full bars- it just won't let my hotpot work. Very frustrated as night time is usually my only free time and of course Verizon has no customer service during those hours. I have plenty of data left to use. What is the issue?

jdshep58,
I use my hotspot frequently as well. I can imagine the frustration you are having with not being able to use it. We are here and ready to help you out. What device do you have? Have you attempted to power your device off and then back on? If not, please do so. Then attempt your hotspot again.

Same here. It must be a nationwide issue

I almost hope so because if it is something specific to me I am going to be pretty mad. The guy at the store was very helpful I thought and it was made clear that pretty much the only reason I was switching to Verizon was to use my phone as a hotspot. Now to have it jacked up when I need it is infuriating.

Any chance you got a messag on your device "updating one application" at the bottom of the device before the hotspot stopped working? not a app from the play store more like a system update.

Its been saying system update paused and waiting for WiFi to resume, but I
have data to do it and can't get it to resume. Its at 0% and I don't know
why it doesn't just download.

Yes I tried to restart my device. I even found a WiFi spot to finish that
update download. I tried using hotspot again this morning and still no
luck. I am really hoping this is not indicative of the quality of service I
can expect- the hotspot was the number one reason I joined Verizon and I
need this resolved immediately.

...and of course now that I wrote a grumpy reply it starts working again.
Well, hope it doesn't happen again whatever it was.

I have a Galaxy S5 and my hotspot isn't working as of tonight (7/24). It was working all day until late this evening. I have restarted as well as hard reset multiple times with no improvement. How can this be resolved?

Do you get any type of error message or it just simply won't allow you to turn it on?
