Moto G7 phone connect problems
dashboardcowman

Moto G7 cannot connect to call out, and incoming goes to voicemail immediately. Data works fine. Texting works fine. Can call using other apps besides the default phone app, which is the one from google. DND not turned on. Everything else works fine. Another G7 we have did the same thing then fixed itself.

Worked fine for months, then just started happening.

To those who may have this problem. Resetting the network setting fixed the problem. This is the instructions for the G7.

By performing the steps below, the following are cleared or restored to default values:

  • Cellular and Wi-Fi network settings (including saved networks and passwords)
  • Bluetooth®

  1. From a Home screen, swipe up to access all apps.
  2. Navigate: Settings

    > System

  3. Tap Advanced then tap Reset options

  4. Tap Reset Wi-Fi, mobile & Bluetooth.
  5. Tap RESET SETTINGS.

If prompted, enter the PIN, password or pattern

  6. Tap RESET SETTINGS to confirm.

dashboardcowman,

We don't want this to be an ongoing problem. Did anything different recently happen on your device? For example, did you update the software or download a new application to your phone? Have you powered that device off and on since this issue started?

A couple of days earlier the Android software updated. Don't know if that caused the problem or not. Phone not used for calls very often. Mostly text and other apps. Phone was restarted after software update. When problem was discovered phone was turned off and back on a couple of times. It happened on two different G7 phones, but one fixed itself. No problems since Wi-Fi, mobile & Bluetooth reset.

Thanks for those details dashboardcowman. How is the phone working after resetting the network settings? Is there any physical or liquid damage to your phone? Have you tried a factory reset on the device?

Phone has been working fine since the network reset. No damage to anything. Did not do factory reset. No need to. I consider the problem fixed and closed.
