My mom was able to call verizon and then was able to stop my phone from working with the network. The phone itself works but it cannot send messages or use the data. How can i "turn it back on"?

She called some number and stopped it from using the network. How can i make it work again?

It will take a while. But you can do the following:

  1. Respect your Mother
  2. Do as you are told
  3. Get good grades
  4. Do your chores
  5. Don't run with the wrong crowd
  6. Dont send texts or photos you would not want your mom to view
  7. Once she finally allows you to have data and txting back, do not abuse the privilege by spending all day on the phone and going over your data limit.

it sounds like she blocked your data and text package. she's the only one that can turn it back on. unless we are all totally misunderstanding you, and she simply asked them how to turn off the radio from the phone. if that's the case then restarting it would turn the radio back on.....but i'm guessing that's not what you're talking about.

Guys it sounds to me the OP is indeed trying to test the Waters of a Very Important Person Name Mom At witch there is no Substitute.!  I will go with what ButOne suggest that you do.!  An not Go behind your MoM's Back. That's Very Disrespectful.. An a big No No if your wanting your Phone to Work Again..B33

How about talking to your mother?  I'm assuming a lot about your situation but I would imagine it is unlikely that you can reverse whatever decisions your mother has made for HER account. And based on my assumptions, it seems unlikely that you have the ability to get your own account so it seems to me that you are out of luck...

I wouldn't necessarily say moral police, just trying to keep this person from committing fraud by trying to undo an act of someone who is just managing an account for which they are responsible and under contract.

If on the other hand, the contract is in the name of the OP, then I stand corrected.

If OP were old enough to be charged with fraud then that might be a legitimate excuse, but everyone was treating him/her like a child, so that's obviously not the case.

Not necessarily. You may have to be 18 to enter into a contract with Verizon, but you do not have to be 18 to be charged as an adult when you commit a crime.

This is very true, although it's unlikely that a judge is going to charge a grade-school child with fraud. It even sounds absurd.

Although there is nothing in the OP's original statement to make one believe this is a grade school child. Just someone on their mother's Verizon account. Age is not even mentioned.

Which is why I said everyone was treating him like he were a child, not that he/she is one. You can't both call this person a child and also threaten them with fraud.

I guess I just don't agree with your logic.

You can very well WARN, a child about the consequences of their actions. A teenager who is rebelling against their parents and trying to assert their independence does not mean this "child" could not face consequences if they take actions which could be considered criminal. I DO call these people "children", treat them as such if they act in this manner, they are capable of facing consequences when overstepping laws and NOT warning them about possible consequences can only HURT them if they fail to realize these consequences prior to attempting these acts.

I guess our opinions just don't coincide.

Of course you can warn them. Well, not you necessarily, because it's none of your business, nor mine, nor anyone else's in this thread—that was the reason I commented on everyone's moral policing. OP was asking a simple question which sought a simple answer. If you don't, for your own personal reasons, feel comfortable answering, then don't.

So in retrospect, with the question being "If the account owner disables my cellular phone, how can I get it working again?" And the answer is... "Ask the account owner to re-activate it."

I am perfectly comfortable answering the question. No mention of age or moral policing. Should make everyone happy!

And just BTW ... using someone else's Social Security number and birthdate to impersonate them is probably against some very serious laws. Even if it's your Mom's info.

social security # isn't needed, just the 4 digit security code that's setup for access to the account.

fwiw:

my son, wife & i share an account & any of us 3 can get into verizon customer service with the code.

Don't you think this is the wrong direction to direct a young mind, you are informing them to defy their parent? and not to forget that some of the information you are saying would be needed to access account would lead to ID Fraud..

I cant believe this is even being suggested and justified...
