Unfortunately this does not sound like an SD card issue. It sounds like an issue of the main partition being too small to hold the OS plus all of the Bloatware and anything useful that may be put on the phone. You can try to move some of the Bloatware to the SD card but most of the Bloat Manufacturers do not allow the app to be moved. Try moving apps like Amazon, MyVerizon, VZ Navigator, Slacker etc... to the SD card which should free up some space (it will most likely not let you move any of these though). If you cannot move any of these look at all of the apps on your phone and see what can be moved to the SD card.
Clean Cache, move pictures to store on the SD card as well as music.
