I am not receiving sounds for incoming texts. I am not sure if the sound(s) I chose were entered correctly. Please advise the way I should have created special sounds. Thx.

Happ1, ensuring that you receive all of your text message notifications is a must. Help is here. Let's work together to ensure we have the settings correct. Please tap Menu>Settings>Sounds & notifications>notification sounds. Which sound do you have chosen?
