I've seen this problem noted in other forums, for Samsung devices, but have not found a way to restore the auto-rotate function on my phone after the 6.0 update. The box is properly checked in Settings and I've tried everything but a full factory reset. Any ideas?

This is alarming. Software updates are designed to enhance software on the device. I am sorry to hear this is a hinderance for you. Does the screen rotate at all? Or does it rotate and you do not want to have it rotate?

It happened to me once. The first thing i tried is turning my phone off and removing the battery. I waited about a minute. Reversed the process. And voila! Auto rotate was back in action.
