I dropped my phone today and the screen is black. The lights work and it rings but can't gain access to anything. If I switch sims cards from one phone to another what happens does anything transfer with that? How will I get everything off my phone if you can't access the screen.

If you put your SIM card into a different compatible phone it will allow you to use your existing number & service on that device. You could access things stored on your previous phone by tethering it to a computer or if you used a backup program/app to transfer files/settings to the other phone

ROSEY.B,
I'm sorry to hear about your phone. No one enjoys having device issues and I'll be happy to help with making sure you're able to retrieve your phone's content. deloused & sprmankalel provided some great suggestions to retrieve your phone's information and what will happen if you place your SIM card into a different device. Do you recall how you backed up your device's information? Have you tried to power cycle the phone off and on to verify if the screen shows any information?

Chances are that your contacts are backed up to Google so simply signing in with your Gmail account will restore them.
