I was talking to my girlfriends mom about maybe switch to an iphone because the lifeproof cases are so good. one problem though, we are a couple months into our contract. she was telling me I could have my number switched to an iphone and it would only cost around $10. She said I could borrow a friends old iphone and have VZW transfer the number from my sim card to the Iphone.. is there anyone that can give me some advise on this topic? I am an android user.

If you're speaking of an iPhone 5, you can take your SIM card from your Android device to the iPhone, and it will activate accordingly. If you're going from an LTE device to an older iPhone 3G model, you can "Activate a New Device" via MyVerizon.
