Is it possible to switch devices and cell phone number with another person on my plan. He would give me his phone and I would if possible have my number transferred to his phone and I would do same.
If yes, how do I do this?

If both phones have SIM cards, simply switch the cards. If you do not have SIM cards, either call Customer Service or go to a local VZW store and they can easily switch the numbers.

Good afternoon DeeCT.
This is an interesting transaction! As mortb mentioned, you can swap SIM cards to have the phones changed to each other's numbers. However, its best to do a Factory Data Reset on both phones first, (if Smartphones), this way you won't be stuck with each other's data. Which phone(s) do you have? You can go onto our support website, www.vzw.com , select Support, then enter Factory Data Reset (YOUR PHONE MAKE/MODEL) and search. This will provide you the steps on how to reset your phone(s). Then you can turn off both phones, turn on one of the two, and go through steps to activate/ program. Once completed, you will turn off programmed phone, turn on other phone, again, activate/ program. Then you can turn both phones on and use as normal. Since both phones are currently activated, you may need to call in or go into a store, as system may see that phone is activated on another line and may not let you activate successfully.
If you need further assistance, please follow me, and send a Direct Message with your mobile number and I will be happy to reach out to you.
Thank you,

Sorry it took sooo long to reply here. My laptop has the new Windows 8 and I couln't reply to messages. I'm using Google Chrome here today on another computer.
Thanks to all for replying. I'm going to try these suggestions. Very helpful.

If you have Windows 8 (pre-update OS) your computer might not recognize your cell phones. I had that problem with my Galaxy Note II and Windows 8. After much searching for a cure, I decided that the only cure was to go back to Windows 7. No problems in connecting my phone to my laptop after that. So, just in case you can not tether the two, it's Windows 8 fault. Good luck in the swap.

Your response had nothing to do with their question. And if you were still using the beta version of Windows 8 yeah a lot of things won't work since the license for that ran out Jan 15.

If you look, I DID answer the original question. This was merely another suggestion. And no, this was NOT the beta version. This was a licensed version purchased at Micro Center.
