TCL Flip Pro Turns off when I set it down. I have to power it up again

If I power the phone on and set it down, it stays on.  If I go ahead and use it, say to send a message, and set it down, it immediately powers off.  I have to push the power button and start it again.  I can tap it and jiggle it around when it is on and it doesn't power off, so doesn't seem to be a wire or battery problem.  Is there a setting I am missing?  Some kind of security setting?  What  else could be wrong?

That is indeed some strange behavior, dg29leet. I know if this was happening to me, especially if it wasn't turning off with the other activities, I would be looking for more help. Let's see what we can do to help. When did this behavior first start happening? What changed with the device prior to this starting?

I don't know when it started.  Could have been an operating system update.

Apparently due to loose cage for the SIM card.  SIM card moves on and off the contacts.  Poor quality product.

We have this problem but not as bad as some. In one case, the phone powered up and we got a message that there was no sim card. We removed and replaced the sim card, and it worked. But the phone still powers down randomly. Did you find a resolution?

There is no other behavior I can report.  It happens once or twice a week. Software is up to date.

Also, where did you get my old email address from:? I should be getting email notifications of updates to discussions to [email address removed per the Verizon Terms of Service]

I've been having this same issue, started in the last couple of months with a TCL Flip Phone I got after the 4G upgrade. Suddenly started shutting off often multiple times in the span of a few minutes.

smcgavin, help is here as having a properly working phone is a must. So sorry to ask but has there been any damage to the phone, physical or liquid?
