Unable to receive messages from Metro PCS

I am sending text messages to someone whose carrier is Metro. They are receiving my texts, however I am not receiving their replies. 

What can I/Verizon do to fix this issue?

I'm sorry you are having issues receiving messages from this carrier, JH1213. We can certainly get a second opinion and look into this further. When did you start experiencing this problem? Is this happening with other contacts on your device? Is this affecting calls?

This is the second day that I have known of this issue. I do not know if it affects calls but it does not affect group messages with 3 of 4 people. 

There is also one other contact that I have this issue with although I do not know his carrier

Thank you for those details. What messaging application are you using? Have you tried using another application other than that one? Where are you located (zip code)?
