Is it just me, or does anyone else want unlimited data back? LoL!

It doesn't really matter to me, but I can see how some would prefer to have it. It would just be an added expense for me.

You do realize that unlimited data is/was cheaper than teird data packages right? I'm not sure how it would be an added expense.

Actually, unlimited data was only $0.01 cheaper than 2 GB of tiered data. However since I do not have tiered data either, it is kind of irrelevant.
Last November, I had a 1400 minute Talk & Text Plan with 2 smartphones w-unlimited data packages. I also had 2 basic phones. Total monthly cost was ~$214. I upgraded the 2 basic phones to smartphones. If I were to stay on my same plan but just add 2 tiered data plans for a total of $60 additional/month, I would have been paying $274/month.
Instead I decided to go with the Share Everything plan. I currently have 4 smartphones on the Share Everything Plan and pay a total bill of $234.
$274 - $234 = $40. Adding the smartphones with tiered data would have been an ADDITIONAL EXPENSE of $40. You ARE correct that unlimited data would have been cheaper, though, than having tiered data. If I added 2 smartphones with unlimited data, I would only have had an ADDITIONAL EXPENSE of $39.98. So in retrospect, I guess the unlimited data WOULD have been SLIGHTLY better. However, since I don't have tiered data OR unlimited data, I am able to SAVE $40/month with the same equipment. THAT is how the unlimited data would have been an added expense, at least for me.
Keep in mind, not everyone has the same usage patterns. Everyone should ALWAYS see which plan is the best fit for their own situation.

Also keep in mind that I could ADD an additional 8 GB of shared data to my plan and STILL be paying less than I would have been had I added the same 2 smartphones with tiered data.

As soon and you explain the technology in which Verizon can offer unlimited 4G data with just 10 MHz download and 10 MHz upload I might side with you.

No it's not just you. Actually I still have unlimited data and I will not upgrade my phone due to their new restrictions. I have been with Verizon for well over 12 years and unfortunately their customer service is not what it use to be. My contract is about to expire and I have received many texts regarding upgrading (for a $30 upgrade fee). Didn't use to have to pay an upgrade fee before and I would be losing my unlimited data plan as well! Not interested. I'm seriously considering moving on to another company where I could get comparable service and devices but for a lot less money. I have always been ok with paying more for my service than other people I know because I always felt their service was the best....however I can no longer say that is the case And in this struggling economy I fail to see why I should pay premium monies towards sub par service. They have no consideration for their loyal customers!

Maxcee72, I praise GOD for you. Your one of the very first person to truly understand the point I'm trying to make. Most of everyone on here is jumping to Verizon's defense. Thank you for sharing your story and I hope it doesn't go unnoticed.

I think everyone understood your point, it is just that most people realize that having a subsidized unlimited data plan is just a dream, or a wish... Would everyone love it? Yes, they would. Do I still have it on my phone? Yes, and I am in the same boat as Maxcee72, I have lines that are eligible for upgrades, but they would lose their unlimited data, and I don't want to do that right now. But don't bash rcschnoor for pointing out what he did, he realized that moving to the new Share Everything plan worked for him and his plans. It would work ok for me too if I had to move, and I will probably at some point, but I will ride the unlimited data as long as I can.

When you say things such as this, I am assuming you are including me in this category. I am not really sure WHY you would do that, though. I am SAVING $40/month by voluntarily giving up my unlimited data and switching to the Share Everything plan. How is THAT jumping to Verizon's defense. That is my defense, NOT Verizon's as I am WITHOLDING $40/month in revenue from them.
Are you suggesting I should have kept my unlimited data, pay an additional $40/month to Verizon and receive NO ADDITIONAL BENEFIT for doing so? If you can explain how that would benefit ME and not ONLY VERIZON, then I would be more than happy to agree with you.
As it is, I AM NOT defending Verizon. I ONLY chose the plan which was BEST for my situation. The fact it DOES NOT agree with you philosophy does not change the fact it is the BEST option for ME. I am saving almost $500/year, revenue Verizon IS NOT receiving. I have also NOT changed my data usage habits AT ALL.
When the Share Everything plans were 1st introduced, I was quite vocal against them. Later, when I chose to upgrade 2 of my 4 lines to smartphones, making all lines on my account smartphones, I realized I would SAVE money by VOLUNTARILY giving up my unlimited data and making the switch WITHOUT any effect whatsoever to my usage habits. THAT is why I made the switch. I felt no need to give Verizon additional revenue UNLESS I would have a benefit for doing so.

Everyone gets your point. You don't get we accept the realities of the real world. No one here is against the idea of unlimited data. Some us accept the REALITY that it is not possible. So I am not defending Verizon I am trying to educate you on the reality of the situation because you clearly do not understand it.

The fact is debating unlimited data is pointless. You do not have need for UNLIMITED data. You can not use UNLIMITED amounts of data. Now if you want to have a debate that your 2 GB for $30 should be 20 GB or 200 GB or even 2000 GB that IS a debate we could have. >Comment deleted<

I read the poster using the word, 'Unlimited' as marketed by VZW and ATT and others for years. You are correct no one can use an unlimited amount. But 'Unlimited' meant, all you can use in a specific time frame. So yes, technically it was not unlimited.
You are splitting hairs with semantics. We all know what they mean.

No I am not splitting hairs. The fact is that Verizon is not bringing back unlimited data and for the foreseeable future wouldn't be able to offer it if they wanted to. Now if one said they would accept say 200 GB per month instead of unlimited which for the vast majority of customers would essentially be unlimited( though not technically unlimited since at 12 Mbps one could use 3800 GB per month ) then we can debate whether to not that is currently possible for Verizon to do. Since saying one wants unlimited data is a non-starter I am trying to get these "I want unlimited data" people to start coming up with actual figures. ANY number. Even a ridiculously high one. At least then we could have a debate.
If one wants to argue that 2 GB for $30 is not enough. Hey I can agree with that. I don't personally use close to 2 GB. But for $30 I would agree that is really low. And of course Verizon certainly could offer more without harming network performance. Say 10 GB a month would have virtually no affect on their network. Probably even much more than that.
So when it is said that Verizon can't offer unlimited data, this is true. So arguing otherwise is pointless. When Verizon only offers 2 GB for $30 because they're supposedly trying to protect their network from overload that's bull because they could offer more. As I said they could offer 10 GB a month, they just rather have people pay $50 extra for it.
