I will be going on a trip abroad for about 2 and a half months. I want to unlock my LG Lucid and use a SIM card of the country I'm going to.
Im not sure how to do this. Do I just call Verizon and ask them to unlock it?
Also, if I unlock it and use a different SIM card, what happens to my original Verizon SIM card? Will I lose my number and my account?
Or will my plan be cancelled?
Thanks!

All the information about your cell phone is on the SIM that is in it now. However, this information can be placed on a new SIM card. You should go to your local Verizon store and they can help you with the unlocking and the putting the info on a new SIM card. This is something that you should not try to do yourself. Why change SIM though. It should be good in any country you go to.

The LG Lucid is a 4G LTE phone and isn't global ready at this time. I don't even know if it has the necessary radios and software to function on the GSM networks overseas with a foreign SIM card. You might want to verify the specifications of the phone to see if it is capable of overseas use.
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.
