Updating Z3v without a Verizon Wireless Network

Is there any way to update my Z3v to lollipop without connecting to a Verizon Wireless Network. I bought the phone from US but I am using it in Europe. The phone was bought unlocked, everything works great, it's just that I cannot update it - it gives me an error.

The only way I'm aware of is via the Software Upgrade Assistant tool, which I think VZW offers for their Sony Z3v. The Software Repair Assistant is similiar so this article may help: http://www.verizonwireless.com/support/knowledge-base-203929/

So I got super excited about your idea. But unfortunately Software Upgrade Assistant tool is not available for Z3v. It's just frustrating because on xda forum they came up with a method to upgrade the Z3v (but that involves rooting, and all kinds of things - and I'd rather stay out of them).

It seems that I'm so close to the Lollipop, but not close enough.

Anyway, thx a lot for taking the time to answer my question .

Software Update - Software Upgrade Assistant (Sony) | Verizon Wireless

So, in encountered a problem. I am using Windows 10, but when I connect my Z3v to the pc via USB it doesn't display any option to install the upgrade assistant. It doesn't even appear (it's just the internal and sd card but no cd nor installation option) when i click on My Computer. But I went to Settings - Xperia - USB - and i checked the Install Software box.

Any suggestions, or any place where I can download the Upgrade Assistant and install it manually?

Hmm. Maybe go to an Apple Store and use their iMac and download it. I've seen people do stuff like that before.

I think the only way it will work is to find the software and download it from somewhere. The phone is not activated and i can't even get in touch with verizon support. Can someone ask them for the piece of software? That would be great!

What is suppose to happen is when you plug the device into a PC/Mac it will install the drivers. Maybe see if Sony support and offer you an alternative. I have the software on my Mac as my Father had the Z3v and I had to help him in the past with it. When I plugged it in it prompted to download the software if I remember correctly.

Sony software does not support the Z3v! Only Verizon can update

Verizon is playing games. Sony can initialize unlocking your bootloader, but Verizon refuses to offer support for our devices anymore and won't help the xda community or other developers by providing the needed information to help. Z3V owners and developers are planning a class action lawsuit against them shortly after Christmas if this continues. Stay tuned to xda for more information. I have one and Im pissed also.
