If I buy a new Stratosphere II (i415) on eBay, can I use my i405 sim and sd cards in it? Do you think such an upgrade is a good idea? As you all probably know, VZ doesn't carry it any more but I like the Stratosphere enough to get another one. Thx for your help.

If the SIM card is the same size slot, then you can certainly move the SIM card from one phone to another. The SD card can definitely be moved to the new phone.
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

And if the SIM cards aren't the same size, you can get a new SIM card free at your local Corporate Verizon store or order one during the on-line activation process.

carol_vojir, helping you is what we do here. You may purchase a Verizon Wireless Smartphone from a 3rd party and acitvate it on your line as long as it has not been reported lost or stolen. If your current sim card is not compatible then you may retrieve a sim card from any of our corporate Verizon Wireless stores at no charge. http://vz.to/3SdsA
