And tech was right...you MIGHT see the same thing happen, but you might NOT if you update as previously outlined.  Good luck.

Thank you, I need all the luck I can get with this.

Sorry, I should have elaborated more on why the tech told me that.  She indicated that lollipop has proved one of the highest return rates of phones amongst all manufacturers.  And, probably the worst they have ever seen that even the replacements have to be returned.  She admitted that LG is literally scratching their heads and have no clue on how to fix majority of these issues.  Meaning an update may not be in the near future.  However, as stated...I will continue to swap phones until either I get a good one, an entirely different device, or LG decides to produce an update that works.

Honestly, as soon as i got my first replacement, I immediately updated before even setting the phone up.  No issues from that instance.

Don't do update!  Phone worked great until the update.  I get/receive texts anywhere from 1-10 hrs after I send or supposed to receive them. doesn't show voicemails when I get them.  Battery life is about 2-5 h hrs and running very hot.  won't read my memory card.  Verizon rep suggested a factory reset... that's great and then u lose everything.

Seaner, please read the original post in this particular thread. Not trying to nit pick, but this thread is I believe for those of us that have had a good update experience to post about it. There is a plethora of other threads for complaints about the update or to ask questions pertaining to it. Also, please take a moment to breath and realize that everyone here has probably experienced having to do 1 FDR (Factory Data Reset) to their phones. It can be a scary and daunting task for the uninitiated. Trust me, I've been there. You won't "lose everything" if you back up your data properly. Then follow the procedures for an FDR. I think you will find that once it's all said and done, it really wasn't that hard and your phone will be back in working order. Best of luck to you.

LG can stop scratching their heads by sending out the latest updates, which Google has already sent out.

Yep, I was just reading yesterday that Google was releasing 5.1.1 because 5.1 had not fixed all of the issues that we are seeing (in which proves (to me at least) that lollipop is MAJORLY flawed).  So, not only do we (the ones having issues) have to wait for 5.1, but then we have to wait for 5.1.1 if 5.1 did not fix us.  What I gathered from the tech I spoke with is that LG knows about 5.1 and does not have ANY plans to release it any time soon, regardless if it fixes users or not.

I received my replacement phones and I set them up in the way Snn5 suggested.  However, this process did not work and I am having contact Verizon once again.  Waiting to see what I can get done...because this is so frustrating.

Sorry you're having such a hard time with this.  I have no idea why I never have issues updating when I do it the way I do it.  Smiley Sad

Yea and then my calls resulted in me having to speak with a floor Manager due to some unprofessional tactics being done by two reps.  The guy is really nice and is going to do what he can to correct all these wrongs that I have encountered today.  But, only time will tell.
