There are a whole bunch of Apps that were loaded on my phone when I got it and some that just showed up after the latest software update. For example, Isis Wallet, NFL, Google+, Polaris Office, etc. Many of them are always running in the background and they suck the life out of my battery. I DON'T want them!

Many are put in by the manufacturer or Google or Verizon because those companies paid them to do so. If they stopped loading bloatware the cost of devices would be higher because companies are not going to reduce their revenues they'll just make up for them elsewhere. As has been advised already you can disable them and they won;t be running in the background

They are called bloatware placed in the device as to not be removed. Some are cell carrier some are manufacturer.
You can go into the apps list and disable them, such as updates etc. But you cannot remove them.

I can't figure out how to disable them? Like the Isis Wallet app that just showed up today after a software update....there is no "disable" option that I can find.

Click on settings-apps and then click on each name of the app. Then select force close, or select disable then they will still be there but won't be updated or usable.

More accurately, welcome to the carrier world of carrier bloatware. Sprint, AT&T, T-Mobile, US Cellular and other regional carriers have bloatware on their branded phones.
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

drewzytoo, We want you to enjoy all that your phone has to offer. The pre-installed applications can be disabled by going to settings, manage applications, all apps, and then select the desired app and disable or turn off.

Let me decide what the heck I want amd stop taking up space on crap that no one needs. Im not paying for caller ID ect ect. Excuse my rant!! Lol

On some apps they'll let you Uninstall them back to Factory setting but once you do that I would then go to your setting in the play store and check Do not Auto Update Apps" that is what I have mine set too.. One thing to Not on that setting it will stay at that position until the PlayStore get an update itself once that o cures you have to reset the setting back to Do Not Auto Update Apps...
