Why does Verizon NOT offer the Samsung Note Edge?

I would really like to have this handset.  I have gotten so many responses from Verizon employees, "Because of the curved screen, if you drop it, you'll break it" (Duh?  Isn't this true of just about any handset depending on the surface and height?), "Verizon and Samsung could not reach contract agreements on this device" (Huh?), "It is a mail-order only item" ( I would have called him on that but my contract still has a month to go; I may try next month after my contract expires).  Really, Verizon, at least get the SAME story out to all your employees!

I'll either have to get a Note 4 (not a bad handset, just isn't an Edge) or switch to T-Mobile to get a Note Edge (NOT going to AT&T!).

TFMorgan,

At this time we have no information on the Samsung Note Edge. Any news would be announced here http://bit.ly/n5snpq  so you can check there for updates!

Why should I look it up? It's not my job to look it up. I said last I remember it wasn't. Someone said it did.  So I should look it up? If the roles were reversed a vast majority of people would do the same.

Sigh.  Since you originally asserted that the Edge hadn't passed FCC approval (and cared enough to keep the discussion going for a page by insisting that sources being provided to you weren't good enough), I think it's reasonable to assume you would care whether what you were saying was accurate.  Most people would, I think, in lieu of spreading misinformation.

Regardless, yes, it has passed FCC approval for Verizon.  Approval for the other major carriers resulted in the device quickly being made available.  The question remains as to what's going on with Verizon.

Sigh. Do people look for conflict? Do people have trouble with reading comprehension?  What does last I read mean? Someone said it did and I wanted a link. Seriously...

If you were referring to my post, I was merely admiring your patience. He asked for links, well those links weren't "good enough ". Then the FCC like was put up and there were questions about that. All that, I believe, the people on this forum are requesting is information from Verizon, as that would be as accurate as we can get

Actually I didn't question the FCC link. When someone said it did pass I asked for the source. The person sited a website with no sources. So I wanted a better source, and because I wanted a better source people go up in arms. I shouldn't have to search for a person's source...

You asked initially for a link. A gave you the link that had the direct link to the FCC. And yet you've still continued to "stand by your statement" (ie argue)  for two days. Since you obviously didn't take the time to read the initial link, I went and pulled the actual link out of the article to make it easier. You still "stood by your statement".

If you Google "Note Edge Verizon fcc",  the actual FCC site with  Verizon approval comes up on page two with all of the actual PDF files.

Bottom line, the phone passed FCC almost six weeks ago. Typically, phone release dates are announced very soon after approval. Verizon not only hasn't releases a date, but also haven't even given the slighest indication on if/when it will be released. Meanwhile, customers like myself, who pay almost $4,000 a year for cell service alone, wait in limbo. I don't have to have an exact date. Just give me an expected timeline so I can make an educated choice on whether to upgrade to the Note 4 or wait for the Edge. If you had told me two months ago that Verizon wouldn't have the phone released by years end, I would have said you're crazy. Now, two months later, and not only hasn't the phone been released, we don't even know what the hell the basic plan is.  Meanwhile, I'm still using this God forsaken S5 that would be better served as a paper weight.

It didn't have a direct link when I looked.  When I clicked on the link it took me to another article on their website.  So uhm like I said multiple times...  You said it was there I said link you gave me a link with a broken source and I wanted something better.  There is NOTHING wrong with me asking and I SHOULD NOT have to search the source myself.  You do this in college your paper fails 100% for failure to cite sources.

With the way rolls are reversed... If I said something I better have sources here...  So what's the problem or is this a double standard?

THE DIRECT LINK IS IN THE ORIGINAL ARTICLE I LINKED!!  you can click it and it takes you directly to the FCC site! That's WHY I linked the article, and that's WHERE  I COPIED AND PASTED the FCC site!  Sweet Jesus.

Like I said when I clicked on it... It took me to a DIFFERENT article specially the articles about the Note EDGE for AT&T and T-Mobile and their photos of their pdfs.  /sigh whatever have fun with it.  Complain to hearts content.  I wish people put this kind of effort to whatever is wrong with this country instead of luxuries... Our country may be better off...

My money is on Jan 13th at the earliest and based on Verizon track record, but again...  It doesn't matter to me.

The gentleman sited a source without any sources. So it's my job to search for that source. In college you'd fail any paper doing what that article did. Just saying.

I'm excited about the note edge myself. People can say it's just a gimmick all they want-- I don't care. I also will admit I like have the newest thing out there. The extra 100 to me isn't a big deal. I just wish verizon would give reasons. I don't care to wait, I just hate not knowing why I'm waiting.

I spoke with Verizon today. Verizon rep says Samsung hasn't released the phone to them. Spoke to someone at Samsung, they say that the pre-order for Verizon will be at the end of March 2015

I would have stuck with vzw because I bought into the coverage sales pitch but after getting p i s s e d about being left behind the cutting EDGE I realized I only need a cell company that services where I live,  who cares about some map.......

So I'm getting my Note edge from another cell provider that the Web says has even better coverage then vzw in my area.

Frustration gone.......

I even went and got one from AT&T and got service from them. But I really want to stay with Verizon. Please does anybody have any CORRECT info on this? While I returned the att phone, if Verizon doesn't get it soon, I might switch to att

Any information about phone availability and/or launch dates will, with any company, be made public via a public announcement, and advertisement. Until this announcement, neither general employees nor even the savvyest of customers and end users will have this information. Coming to these forums to try to procure information that has not been publicly released is futile.

Check the Verizon website, and the Samsung website. If the information isn't there, it isn't here.

lol you're paying MORE for a smaller battery and a second screen that adds nothing. If people want to waste money, let them be fools.

While some may see it as a waste ( I personally would not pay extra for a sunroof but would for the phone) many are interested in the phone and might feel um in the dark as to if/when it comes . If it isn't coming say so, if it is, give us info. Just don't drop it on us
