I would think so, given Verizon wants to make money on this service and there are a lot more 6.0 devices out there now.

Solution: Qustodio is a free parental control for one phone (2 reqs purchase) Qustodio also allows reading actual text content when to my knowledge, Family Base does not.

Hello, I'd like to stop you right there. This is an issue that has been ongoing since the update to MARSHMALLOW (FYI, we're currently on NOUGAT). This issue has been addressed by techs on this site since MARCH. I'd link you to the first post i can find, but this message board will not let me post it. Google "family base companion app not compatible" and take a look at the hits. Verizon is well aware that this is an issue and that the service only provides a fraction of what it advertises without the companion app, which DOES NOT WORK ON ANY PHONES. This is a scam and a lawsuit in the making.
