It doesn't do it all the time, but it still does it. Rejects those numbers and it goes straight to voice mail. I don't have their numbers block so why is the phone rejecting them?

I would call Customer service and have them remove all blocks on the line - it sounds like they are blocked even if you haven't done so intentionally. Maybe customer service can reset it on their end and clear this up for you.

Just to understand when either of them call your phone, they go straight to your voicemail? Do you get a missed call notification? Are you in an area where the signal is weak? Which phone model do you have? Does the phone change the volume level based on your location?

It will ring about 1-2 times just enough for me to grab the phone and it stops, that's when it goes into voice mail. No I don't get a missed call notification. Signal is great as it always been, I'm at home and hubby at work and brother at his home, like I said it doesn't do it all the time. Hubby's phone is cell phone and mine S6, brothers phone is a landline. Volume level doesn't change.

Sounds like you might want to change the ringtone to something different if you are not hearing it soon enough. The system is set at 30 seconds before it goes to voicemail.

no it has nothing to do with the ringtone, it's REJECTING the numbers. Like I said sometimes it does it and sometimes it doesn't. A few hours my husband called and it rejected the call, he just called again and it went through, no rejection.

Are you sure you are not swiping the screen in the direction for hanging up the phone/ignoring the call?

Is it rejecting the call or sending it to voicemail? (Two different scenarios) Do they get a message that you are not accepting the call due to restrictions? Or do they just get your voicemail message and are able to leave you a voicemail?
Sometimes there is a delay in call connection and when it actually rings your phone. I've found that having a song play as my ringtone helps as it;s a continuous sound rather than an intermittent one, and thus easier for me to realize it's "ringing".

REJECT ≠ BLOCK!
I have plenty of blocked spam calls, and once accidentally blocked my sister. It was easy to unblock. Blocked calls you do not hear it ring. It has a VERY SPECIFIC 🚫 icon.
Or when it does not ring, you forgot your volume is turned down.
Rejected calls do not ring and have a very specific REJECT BLUE icon. They do not ring. And I have googled and can not even find the blue emoji/icon.
Every post makes the same mistake thinking that reject is synonmous with blocking or stupidity. Believe me, when you are waiting for your doctor to call for a tele- appointment and you watch it get rejected....they think you have stood them up because you can not pick up.
It's not just an annoyance.

debgram1,
This is alarming. We never want you to miss a call from your family. Has this always been an issue for you on this device? Are they with Verizon Wireless? Do you have any other issues with anyone else and calls being rejected?

I know this post is old, but my iPhone X started doing this with my ex (child's fathers number.). He is in jail, so the only way my child can talk is by accepting the call. Did you have a fix? I have reset the phone, checked the blocked number setting, do not disturb settings, taken out the SIM card.

MajesticAcacia, I totally understand wanting to get help with this issue. We want your child to be able to stay in contact with their Dad. To help troubleshoot what's going on, I want to get a little clarification on some details. When your Ex is making his calls from jail, is he using a collect calling or phone card service? Are none of the calls coming through or some?

Hello debgram1!
Thanks so much to the community for their input on this issue, the suggestions and questions were on point. I'd like to add some troubleshooting steps for you.
Most Smartphones have the abilit to reject a call while their contact is pulled up. So, please go to your contacts application, pull up your husband's contact information, and press Menu. Please let me know if you have the option to remove the number from the rejected list. You may have added the call reject accidentally. It's an easy mistake to make.
Keep me posted!
