Why is my device running so slow after the update?

Hey, my HTC M8 just had a system update in March. Problem...it sucks. The only cool going are the emojis. My keyboard is super slow and there is a delay with every time i touch the screen, an app, etc. Just typing this is a headache. Are other phones freezing up too with this new update? What can I do?

Have you tried a system cache clear from the recovery menu?
