What is the holdup with the LG V20? All of the other carriers have it, yet no one seems to know when Verizon will carry it. I am a long time customer, and even stayed after losing my unlimited data. I am eligible for upgrade, and want the LG V20. I do not want any other phone currently offered. If I cannot get some indication of when (or even indeed "if") Verizon will offer the V20, I will be forced to move to another carrier. I don't want to have to switch, but not having any information about when/if the V20 is coming to Verizon at this stage of the game is going to make that happen.

According to this, the phone is coming to VzW:
The LG V20: coming to Verizon on LTE Advanced | About Verizon
and rumor has it around Oct. 21:

If question is already answered by multiple sources.
When date is likely when everyone else gets it in the US, October 21.

AT&T, Tmobile and Sprint have already announced it. They have pre-orders. I called and spoke with Verizon, and was transferred to Channel; they have a window 90 days out showing offers, new phones, etc. They have NOTHING...absolutely NOTHING...in the system for the v20. That puts it out to mid-January at the earliest.
So, all speculation and guessing aside, and that is all there is at this time, no one at Verizon has any idea when it will be available.
So, despite my desire to stay with Verizon, unless the situation changes very soon, I will have to move on to any of the other carriers that do offer the V20 right now.
Sad that Verizon chooses to drag it's feet...perhaps not to interfere with the introduction of the inferior iPhone 7, or the disappointing Pixel and Pixel XL.
To those of us that want a better phone, I guess we are out of luck.

Weth, I appreciate your participation in this thread, but as clearly stated, Verizon has no idea when they will offer it. I spoke with Channel, who have access to the next 90 dyas as far as phones, specials, promo;s, etc.
They *DO NOT* show it available in that time frame. That means that earliest would be end of January, 2017. I posted this earlier.
Please, in the future, read the entire thread before responding.

As I have stated twice in this thread, I spoke with Channel and they have no indicators at all for the next 90 days. They can see promos, new phones, new plans, etc. They have nada on the LG V20. That put it to mid January at the earliest.

I know what I was communicated today and believe it over this "channel". Maybe your channel is bad. The CSR read the internal message and it was very clear. Thursday will tell all. I'm a believer in what I was told because I heard the details from a trustful CSR that really wouldn't make up a story. She was working on trying to get a return bx sent for my Note 7. No reason to make up a memo or V20 pre order story.

There is only one channel; It is where offers, specials, promos, etc, are managed.
Having spoken with them, they have nothing for 90 days out.
It seems highly unlikely that it would suddenly appear in less than a week; that would not give the stores any time to set up signage, stock inventory, etc, This includes sending updates to each Point of Sale system in the nation.
Since the stores have received no marketing or in store signage, no inventory (or indications of allocations for preorders), no training material on the phones, it is highly unlikely that we will see it.
AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, etc, already have everything they need to start accepting pre-orders. They have been provisioned with their allocation of phones to sell, signage, promo material, etc.
So, while your source quoted something she thinks she saw, it was probably not anything internal to Verizon.
Don't get me wrong; I would love to see it released for preorder on the 21st with handsets arriving on the 28th. By every indicator that I can find, it just ain't gonna happen.

NoNoBadDog, you asked a question and it is beginning to sound like you don't want to hear the answer. Before you discount everyone else's responses, why don't you call (call again, not go off of information you were told a week ago) and talk to Verizon yourself since you obviously have to hear it from an "official" source.
How about this one?
LG V20 Verizon™ Deals Are Coming Soon | LG USA
It doesn't provide an exact date, but says the promotion runs through 11/20. Its obviously going to run for some time before that date, which makes October 20th/21st sound real promising for at least a preorder announcement...Do you still think the phone is going to come out in January?
I fully believe you when you say that the information was not available when you talked to "channel" (whatever that is). But from the sound of it, apparently that information is available now.
Do you really think that Verizon is going to offer you information for devices 90 days out? Devices not yet announced publicly? What a joke.
At the very least, be patient enough to wait until the device is even available on the other carriers before complaining. What are you going to do? Switch carriors now and be without a phone for 2 weeks while you wait for your preorder to arrive? You act like it's already available.....

Called Verizon this morning and was told pre-orders will start 10/20/16 the phone will be released 10/24/16 from Verizon. I'll be calling first thing on the 20th to ensure I get a set of the $150 earbuds for free.

Calm down, garp01us. Lol. According to the fine print, everyone who buys the phone during the promo period will get a set of earphones. Also, you won't be getting the earphones with the phone. It'll be like the Samsung promotion, where you have to submit your claim online and wait. Here's some of the text from the terms and conditions:
"Participants who purchase a new LG V20 during the Promotional Period
will receive a pair of H3 by B&O Play Earphones (“Earphones") if the submission is successfully
registered online on or before Friday, December 9, 2016 11:59 pm Eastern Time. Please allow
4-6 weeks for fulfillment of valid promotion requests."

Wow - Something happened. I woke up and it was January 2017. I have no recollection of Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Years. By the way, who won the election? I tried to ask the Channel, but they said, Bye Bye Miss American Pie, I was by the levy drinking whiskey and rye...

LOL! This thread never ceases to amuse me. Just another one of those types that can never be wrong. Probably a spoiled kid growing up, used to getting everything they want on a platter...
I just checked and the question is only "assumed answered", even after hearing it from Verizon himself. I bet you he will literally order the phone, wait until it arrives to his doorstep, take it to the verizon store to have them authenticate that it is the real deal, while they are under oath and hooked up to a polygraph before he concedes that the information was true.

Nice try, but as always, wrong. I'll bet I am quite a bit older than you. Retired from the U.S. Armyafter 23 years. Two tours of Iraq, one in Afghanistan. Now live in Hawaii. I may be impatient, but everything I own I have worked for. Earned. Grew up in a poor family in the midwest, never had anything handed to me.
In addition to my impatience, I have a low tolerance from snot nosed kids who think they know everything, have a condescending attitude, and make assumptions that have no basis in reality. But, haters gonna hate, so rage on.

NoNoBadDog,
First of all, thank you for your service.
Secondly, I can actually be quite reasonable when I want to . I actually agree with the sentiments you've expressed above, but you must not come across the same as the people you despise in order for that viewpoint to hold any weight, because that's all I saw from your earlier posts on this thread.
To be honest, the thing that really got me involved was the irony regarding the continued "the other carriors already have it remarks, and the difference between "they already have it" and "they have already announced it." Because that is literally a statement that "has no basis in reality." A threat to switch carriors holds no weight unless the other carriors actually have what you want. Att could have announced a year ago that they're releasing the LG V20 on October 27th, but that does not constitute "having it." The article you discounted that stated that Verizon beat the other carriors to the punch is literally valid because Verizon customers actually get their hands on it sooner, which is literally all that matters in this case.
I hope you can see the humor in that as I did

The problem with your reply is that AT&T, T-mobile Sprint, etc in the US, and carries in South Korea and Singapore all announced the availability before Verizon did. AT&T started pre-orders before Verizon did. That has been my point all along. At least their subscribers knew what was going on.
My gripe all along has been the complete inability to get *ANY* information about the v20 until 3 days ago.
I am using a G3. It is the third one, having exchanged the others for defects. This one is defective as well, but since Verizon wouldn't let me switch my phone, I suffered with it until the Note 7. Then I read about the batteries and the recall, and waited for the V20.
My whole point is that I feel that the ball was dropped. Verizon should have announced their plans when the others did. Doing so would not have cost them anything, and in fact would have helped customers like myself that don't want to settle for an inferior phone like the iPhone or the Pixel.
So, I will stand by what I said. You, of course are free to disagree. That does not mean that what I said has not merit; it just means that you do not agree.
The frustration of having a phone that is barely limping along, compounded by the fact that competitors have announced their plans, was an exercise in frustration for me, and others like me who wanted simply to have an idea of when the phone would be available; this month, next month, whenever.
So, feel free to disagree, and even belittle, if you feel it necessary. That doesn't make you right (or wrong), and it serves no purpose other than to argue something that obviously means little to you.

Agree, being left in the dark is not fun, but alas, there is a silver lining! Now you get the phone sooner, and for the almost $150 cheaper than the nearest competitor! Sometimes they just need a little time to get things right, instead of rushing the details and price point like the other carriors. Don't forget to pick up your free pair of headphones and take advantage of whatever other promotions Verizon has cooked up.

Unless you KNOW that Verizon did not have contractual obligations due to Pixel exclusivity preventing them from announcing the device earlier, you can't state with certainty that it would not have cost them anything. And if you DO know that information, it is just as likely you KNEW when they would have released the LG V20 anyway.

And please, if you don't have something concrete to add, please don't paste links to speculation or to old links that merely say "coming soon". I'm not interested in guesses.
