Help! I work at a school, so I want my phone to be secure in case any of my students try to get into it (I don't think they would, but you never know!).
I have the pattern screen lock on my phone. Recently, after a software update on my Samsung Galaxy S4 mini, I'm getting this message:
"You have incorrectly attempted to unlock the phone 1 times. After 9 more unsuccessful attempts, the phone will be reset to factory default and all user data will be lost."
I *do not* want this feature on my phone!
Is there a way to disable this "reset to factory default" if 10 unsuccessful attempts are made to access the phone?! I can see one of my little ones inadvertently causing me to lose all my information!
Thanks.

A friend with an iPhone was able to help me.
Go into Settings.
Then go to Lock Screen.
Under Lock Screen is an option for "Auto Factory Reset." If it's checked, the feature is enabled. Uncheck if you don't want to lose your data when little kids play with your phone.

wen70,
We do not want you to lose your information on your device. I am sorry as there is not an option to turn off the option to reset the device to factory settings if the password is entered incorrectly a number of times. The best option to provide you with more then 10 attempts would be to set up a device that has 2 step security if the first can not be verified, such as the Face unlock option.

@LindseyT_VZW:
You may want to correct your response (since, less than an hour after you provided a 100% WRONG answer, a user provided a CORRECT response). After all, considering how unhelpful and useless Verizon support generally is, I'd think that you'd want to fix obvious incompetency.
PS The first part of your answer is wrong, the second part is incomprehensible.

Yes, I did. To be honest I was surprised that Verizon has allowed such a bad answer provided by one of their own "customer support specialists" to persist for so long.
FWIW, I came across this (wrong) answer only today when I was trying to figure out how to disable this horrible "feature".
