phone part broke off

i have a samsung 5 and the place where you plug the charger in just brok so theres nothing over that area can that be replaced

Samsung would be the place to find out this info unless you have insurance thru Verizon.

We understand the need to charge your phone. With regard to the part that broke please clarify what part you are referring to? Are you stating that the cover for the charging port has broken or the charging port is damaged where you cannot charge your phone?

I haven't had that  phone since it first came out but the cap over my charging port broke off not long after I had it but I couldn't send it to Samsung to fix since I couldn't be without a phone back then.   I remember a discussion at android central on the S5 forums and a ton of people had the same happen.  You can order the cap online and it's an easy fix with a YouTube video if I remember right as that's what people were doing.  I never bothered.  I think that was the only time I had a smart phone with a cap on the charging port.  That's what I think I remember from the discussions at android central back then.  If you Google you can find all the info.  Mary
