photos go to CLOUD even when phone selected to store on SD card?

I have set my HTC phone in settings to store photographs on the SD card and NOT the cloud. I even went in my cloud and selected to save only the Contacts to the cloud, nothing else. Yet images STILL show up in the cloud storage.

the cloud is a backup, are the pics going to the card??
