I am trying to log in and read the text messages from my daughter's phone. Is this even possible with the Smart Family plan?

That's an excellent question, and that short answer is no. Is she trying to find something specific that she deleted on her device? I apologize but even with Smart Family, you are not able to see a device's text messages content or photos. You may view the date, time and number from the person that sent the text, but the content is not recorded. Here is more information about the Smart family app, and how to view use it for monitoring.
