am only reciveing calls and texts to my old number but can send texts and call people with my new phone both haveing the same number made the mistake of going to walmart and wasted two hours for the result to end this way not happy at all
Hi, when a port is in progress, incoming calls will still go through your old carrier, but outgoing calls, texts and internet access go through the new carrier. If the port is stuck in limbo and won't finalize, I'd contact your old carrier first to make sure there isn't some issue causing them to hold your number.
With you mentioning Wal-Mart - apologies if this is a stupid question, but are you porting into Verizon, or the carrier that advertises at Wal-Mart - I think that's Straight Talk Wireless? If you ported to Straight Talk, you'd have to contact them for status updates on the port after talking to AT&T to make sure AT&T released the number. If you've ported to Verizon, Verizon's Porting Department can be reached at 888-844-7095. Not sure what weekend hours they have though.
I'm sorry you were having difficulties with a new line. Was this a prepaid account? What happens when you turn the old device off?-Joe
