i have been getting full screen pop up ads all day every day beginning on or about the first week in december. there have been no updates to my os and the few apps i have were updated as needed. these ads are for games, low price websites, etc., and show up before using any app. they pop up when not using the phone too. whats up with this? how do i get rid of this nonsense? i am pre paid verizon. i went into the verizon store and asked about this; the guy there said i needed to contact verizon as i may have been hacked. he said androids have this problem. i havent had this happen ever, ive been with verizon for several years. this has got to stop....

Pop ups can definitely be a nuisance and we're happy to help any way that we can. These are normally caused by 3rd party applications downloaded and installed on the device. For this reason, you may want to remove applications individually to determine which application may be at fault.
