Probably tower congestion. When you go somewhere else and perform a speed test, what do you get? "So slow" is in the eye of the beholder. Actually, some people would LOVE getting reliable 3-5Mbps speeds on download.

I'm here to help, let's look into this. Are you still experiencing slow speeds? If so, what is your current zip code? When did the problem begin?

I have been experiencing the same issues. Zip code is 77656, but it happens all over the Southeast Texas area (Beaumont, Port Arthur). Speeds are sometimes less than 1 mbps. As an example, when scrolling thru Facebook or Twitter, pics will not even load.
I have the unlimited plan, but rarely go over 3-5 gigs/month. Something has changed recently, just needs to be addressed or I may have to switch carriers.

What specific Unlimited plan are you on? GoUnlimited or BeyondUnlimited?

We'd be devastated to lose you as our customer, KENBUR86. Having good data speed is a must, and we want to resolve this. Our community members have been extremely helpful in asking which version of our unlimited plan that you're on, as they can provide very different experiences. To further investigate this, do others with Verizon in your immediate area experience the same speeds? What times of day do you experience the slower speeds?

I am also having EXTREMELY slow LTE speeds. On average I don't even get above 1mbps! This happens all over Seattle, not just in my Neighborhood. It also happens in Redmond (where I work). I have a Google Pixel and my zip codes are 98105 and 98052. I am not connected to WiFi in either of these locations. What is causing the problem? And when will my speeds improve. I am on an unlimited plan, but have only used about 6GB of data for the month, so I shouldn't be getting throttled. Attached is a picture that shows my average download sped of 0.58Mbps, which is about what I have been averaging (even though the upload speed is 5.43 Mbps).

@sea_raptor
You, too, deserve a reliable 4G LTE connection and fast speeds for your wireless data connections on your Verizon Wireless device. I want to ensure we properly address this service issue for you.
I checked the coverage in both your Seattle home and Redmond work areas, and they’re both in good 4G LTE coverage areas. I also didn’t see any recent data issue reports for either area. Let’s take a closer look at your device.
Are you aware of any other Verizon users experiencing this slow speeds issue in these areas? What model phone do you have and when did this problem begin? Please let me know so that I can further assist.

As I said in my original post/message, I have a Google Pixel. It seems like the problem has been an issue as long as I can remember.

I've got a limited plan. 4G on a V30 in a suburb of metro ATL: 3.47Mbps down / 1.37Mbps up. at 7:06pm EST. Sometimes the upload is almost non-exitant.

other posters are going to tell you that with the GoUnlimited version of "unlimited" (sic), your data may be de-prioritized as a result of tower congestion... but according to the description of the plan, no one knows what constitutes congested, nor briefly, nor the probability of the tower or towers in your area being "congested".
If you are on the BeyondUnlimited version of "unlimited", well then supposedly, you will not have your data packet de-prioritized unless unless you hit a magic limit.
If you are on a limited plan, such as I, well, I've just provided info to suggest, download might be fair, and upload may not even register...
personally? I don't think the software running in the towers are providing service consistent with the descriptions of the plans, at the same time, Verizon seems to be re-allocating spectrum, and changing tower hardware to prep for upcoming technology.

Sea_raptor, you have a great phone and we want you enjoying it again. You mentioned that this has been happening for sometime now, do you have any issues with calls or messages? Did this begin with the purchase of this phone? Do you happen to know if anyone else in the area is experiencing this?

I have had same issues where I live
Plan: governement unlimited data
issue with iPhone any version
59427 - 3Mbps on a good day - it didn’t used to be this way, used to get 12-15 a couple of years ago.
I’ve had other Verizon customers, even parked under the tower, same results
59417- 25-30 Mbps
59404 -25-30 Mbps
other communities on I-5 northern MT - same 20-30 Mbps
AT&T in town gets 20-30 Mbps consistently
have been on Twitter with customer service to get answer everything is working correctly, there are no issues- really? Call business support - well it happens to everyone in town on Verizon with government and beyondunlimited.
Kind of at last string before Considering a switch

Has to be congestion- there are times you can’t even get 1Mbps- AT&T has
20+ down and T-Mobile rep sending me SIM card to test theirs- no need to
keep paying for what doesn’t work. Today I’m in one of those other towns
and pulled 32Mbps in 59404.
And I got story of 6 miles from tower, unless I’ve been told wrong everyone
knows tower on Railroad St 59427 is Verizon tower and no one is more than a
mile from that tower in town since it’s only 1.5 miles from end to end.

You might want to check your locations on the following site. According to this site, the tower on Railroad St 59427 is owned by AT&T not Verizon Wireless. Also Verizon Wireless wasn't listed as a registered owner of a tower or an antenna for the four miles around that town.
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

However, you have NOT answered the question asked twice which is specifically which unlimited plan you are on. I am not sure if you are aware but there are 2 different unlimited plans and there ARE differences.
Unless you tell us which plan you are on we cannot provide any insight to your issue and continue to allow you to hijack another user's thread.

it doesn't matter which unlimited plan anybody's on, the best connect thru verizon will be 5-12mbps.
unlimited refers to data usage, not connect speeds.
download ookla & see for yourselves:
