I can't access voicemail in the normal way because visual voice mail refuses to activate. Screen shows message "something went wrong...we ran into a problem...try again later". Well, I've been trying every day for two weeks. I spent an hour on the phone with tech service rep Trisha and she couldn't do anything. At the end she said that Verizon techs were working on the problem and it would be fixed in 3 to 5 days and that she would call me back to check on it. She did not call back and I believe the story was fiction.
I am paying for 100% phone service. Not 70%. Not 85%. 100%.
Fix it.

Did you get yours working?
Same issue on my S22+. Been happening since I got the phone, though it worked fine on my S20.
Every so often it will suddenly start working, but only for a day, then goes back to "Something went wrong."
I've tried clearing data, uninstalling and reinstalling, etc.

Frustrated.

Since Verizon uses VoIP, apparently anything which interferes with direct communication to voicemail will cause a malfunction. As an analogy, it is like trying to see something through some trees as opposed to having a clear line of sight. A clear line of communication is required here.
In my case it was my VPN. After I disabled the VPN everything worked as it should. I am not happy about this but at least I can use VPN when I need it.
I'm sure Verizon reps are helping you but you should look very carefully at any apps or services which may interfere with direct voice communication. If in doubt, try disabling a few of them and then go back and test voicemail activation.
