I have basic Verizon voice mail. In recent months, voice mails will ONLY play on the phone's speaker. The speaker phone button is NOT pressed, and in fact, the button displays as though speaker phone is off. At times, the issue seems to occur for certain voice mails. Other times, it does the same thing for all voice mails. Occasionally, clearing the cache, stopping the app, and/or rebooting temporarily fixes the issue, but it always returns. When the problem occurs, it still plays on speaker even when I have working, wired ear bugs plugged in. It makes no difference if I turn bluetooth on or off. I only have three voice mails right now (so very few). I have a Samsung Galaxy S10.

Hi, we have the same problem on our Kyocera Pro 3. Please let us know what needs to be done, so I can hear the voicemails through the speaker phone. Thanks

Hello, Lacurts. Help is here as you should always have access to your voicemails. Please share details to ensure we understand. Are you stating that if you are not on speaker and attempt to access your voicemail, you cannot hear it? Are you able to make phone calls with no issues? How are you accessing your voicemail?

Could it be that the voicemail app doesn't have the right permissions? Or else the app's cache is full and making it act funny, in which case you need to check the Trash or Deleted folder and permanently delete all voicemails in the trash/deleted folder.
I'm not a Verizon employee, just another customer trying to help.
