The number of international spam calls and texts has increased to ridiculous levels in the last few months. I regularly receive calls from China. I've also received 15 texts since Oct 15 from international numbers. Blocking them is pointless because they're all different numbers. Is Verizon willing/able to actually help it's customers with this issue?

We're sorry to read about the unwanted calls you have received. Our free Call Filter feature can help reduce these calls. More information here: https://www.verizon.com/solutions-and-services/call-filter/ ~Peter

The call filter is doing absolutely nothing to block these texts. I also don't understand how Verizon can charge so much for it's service then demand even more to protect it's customers from this garbage. These texts contain links that I can only assume with turn my phone into a brick with a virus and/or start a chain of events to steal my identity.
In the past month, I have received 26 different texts, mostly from numbers out of the UK, mostly regarding a USPS package that can't be delivered.

Hello, Avensdesora, the Call Filter app will help block spam calls. What model phone are you currently using?

Avensdesora, I've gotten a lot of messages like that too, mostly via email. There's three ways you can report and block Spam/Scam texts. For Verizon, we've got a process where you can send us that spam text, outlined at this webpage: https://www.verizon.com/support/knowledge-base-301493/
Using that 7726 number and process outlined on the page, you can forward us spam/scam texts, and a team can investigate those.
Apple and Android also offer ways to filter, block, and report texts. I'll share links to each of their respective pages, with more details.
Apple: https://support.apple.com/guide/iphone/block-filter-and-report-messages-iph203ab0be4/ios
Android: https://support.google.com/messages/answer/9061432?hl
I'm confident with these tools, you can help reduce the spam messaging you're getting.
