Spam Voicemail bypassing filters on Robokiller/Verizon

So I installed Robokiller a little while ago and it works very well, but I have run into an issue that is confusing me. I am getting an increasing amount of voicemail that leaves NO record of the call either in my verizon history or my Robokiller history of calls. It is like these spammers are bypassing all the spam filters and going directly to voicemail. In Voicemail I can see the number they used to call and can block them there, but I can't train Robokiller or Verizon to recognize these numbers.
Is this a new spam technology or is there a setting I can use to force the calls to go through the filters?
In addition, what setting should I use with Verizon to use only the Robokiller filters?
TIA,
Jeff
