It has been quite a disappointing few weeks of becoming a Verizon customer. The level of deceptive advertising is simply mind-boggling for two such major corporations as Verizon and Costco who should be very wary of their reputation. It is intriguing to read the same problem rearing its head so many times and no corporate attempt to fix it once and for all. WOW!
I, too, became a Verizon customer in December 2023 after porting over my family’s 4 lines from AT&T to Verizon. I had been with AT&T for about 2 decades. Needless to say, at this point, I’m really wondering if my decision to port over was a good one. Like many here, I’m still trying to figure out how many more hoops I have to go through to receive their boldly advertised 1) Costco $250 per line Shopcard (I ported 4 lines so that’s $1000 in Costco shop cards) and 2) Verizon’s $200 per line switcher rebate ($800 rebate credit).
And yes, every time you speak with Verizon they either pass you off to Costco or tell you about escalating your call and following up and yet, no one gets back to you. Meanwhile you are paying bills monthly. Waoooow!!! Verizon and Costco!
I’m so bombed out. I just wish I knew before I leapt. So disappointing to read that alas, I’m not alone. Hopefully, this story finds a beautiful ending but corporations should not be allowed to do business this way. It’s just terrible. I’m getting ready to file a claim with my A.G.’s office for fraudulent misrepresentation and false advertising if this is not resolved.
Thanks everyone for making our voices heard.
