For all those who are still having issues with Verizon App Manager installing apps without permission. This is not new nor the only thread explaining this. Just go to Apps in setting and manually type in the app name (Verizon App Manager or DT Ignite) and disable it. I would like to note that, in those app settings Verizon App Manager bypasses the phones basic code settings. Look at the permissions section. The only permissions it asks for allowance is the phone and notification. It does not have the ability to turn off permissions for unauthorized downloads. Even if you wanted to keep it enabled but turn off the unauthorized download, you cant. Verizon I suggest you fix the permission part of this app manager. Intrusive programs like this only make your product look sneaking and bad. I also hope that you fix your service updates settings. This is the second time Ive had to disable Verizon App Manager. Which means the disabled setting doesnt stick after service updates.
Before you say that the only thing you install is verizon related products, I will call you out before you start. I had at least 10 different apps installed (Lyft, uber, 7 games, and more). All of which state that they were installed by Verizon App Manager in these app's settings. I wouldnt mind if it was Verizon based apps like My Verizon. Im curious if these unauthorized downloads eat into our data that you charge/Throttle for?
I also would like to know, how do you open this app manager to view what it is downloading? Samsungs app manager shows you what apps you download. Google does the same. Verizon app manager doesnt open. If searched for access the only app to come up is the My Verizon app. Which only has the +play manager which only shows your subscriptions. This also illustrates how sneakily intrusive this program seems.
