Yesterday I received a text message on my new LG Accolade VX5600 with the header, "VZW FREE MSG:" (900-070-006022) It contained an offer to enroll in a Verizon "Bonus Awards" special program.
As I hadn't been expecting the message, I was debating what to do (preferably how to save it to my phone & decide later) when I noticed that my account balance was charged .10 for the text. How do I get this charge refunded?
I thought "VZW FREE MSG" meant just that -- no cost to the customer for receiving Verizon system messages. None of the previous free msgs I'd received when setting up the phone this past weekend incurred a fee, nor did promo texts on my previous carrier, NET10 ever negatively affect my balance. Ten cents may not seem like much; but I don't want this to become a recurring pattern.

Call customer service 888-294-6804 and ask for a credit. I had a problem and e mailed Verizon and they called me on my cell and then charged me for it, I called and got the credit since I asked to be e mailed and did not give them my cell number to use. Its not just the 10 cents its a matter of principle.
