I stopped using Verizon for a month to try Straighttalk with another phone. How long will my number be valid?

I don't want to lose my old number; and it will be 5 weeks elapsed time by the time I reload the pre-pay account. What's the time limit?

doncook77, we don't want to see you go. What has you considering this option? If you do choose to leave, you have 30 days to come back before your number is redistributed.
