If I have a prepaid smartphone, can I add it to my plan?

I have a prepaid smartphone, but don't have a card. I already have a plan with verizon. If I added data, and upgraded from a basic phone to a smart phone on my line, could I use the prepaid smartphone on my line?

In addition, how much would a 1 or 2 gig data package cost?

For prepaid, you have to switch from the basic prepaid plans to the smartphone prepaid plans. I don't believe any balance transfers over but I would suggest calling the prepaid customer service number and asking.
