Lost phone in lake

I was paddling a 30 mile day yesterday and my phone fell out of my side pocket around the side of the canoe and fell into the bottum of a lake.  Now I've broke a few phones last couple months been running guided canoe trips in MN it happens but I've always had the sim card so can I go to the verizon store buy a phone and keep my number?

 

TLDR:  Lost phone and sim card bottum of lake can i keep my phone number. On prepaid plan

It is important that you are able to stay connected, Xir3l. As long as you are able to authenticate your account, you will be able to put a new phone with a new SIM card on your line.
