I have the basic daily plan and I was just charged 75 cents for checking my voicemail. It was free up until a few days ago. The usage page says the number dialed was *86 where it usually says my phone number. Anyone else seeing this or is it a fluke?
They have always charged when you retrieve your messages, on your plan its 25 cents per minute. Listening to you voice mail is the same as making a phone call, you have to connect to the cell number to get the voice mail.
Trust me on this, I go through my daughter's usage all the time and she has never been charged for using voice mail from her phone before now. No big deal, because she can check her voice mail from the house phone at no cost, But if you were working on the assumption that it was free (because it was) you could be surprised by unexpected fees.
