Texting and $1.99 plan

Because I can't find this information anywhere:

If I were to begin the $1.99 plan, and if I DO NOT also buy a texting package, will I be charged the $1.99 daily access fee for sending or receiving a text message?

If yes, will I be charged when my phone receives the text, or when I access/read the text?

(laughing) I send about 4000 a month.

If you are looking to send and receive a total of like 20 text, I would pay per use, but if you find yourself using more and more text, I would invest in the $20 bundle

The $1.99 prepaid plan is $1.99 for ever 24 hours and you get unlimited calling to anyone, on any network.

if you do not get a texting bundle, you will have to pay per text you send or receive and each text is $0.02. You will be charged when you phone receives the text.

Hope this helps!

But if I receive a text and have not made a voice call that day, and do not for the rest of the day, am I charged $1.99+0.02, or just $0.02?

the $1.99 is for calls only.

Say today you placed a call at 8 AM you would pay $1.99 and you would have until 8AM tomorrow to make and receive and many calls as possible before you are charged $1.99 again. Then tomorrow at 8:01 AM, you receive a text, you would only get charged $0.02 for the text, you wouldn't get the $1.99 charge again until you actually placed or anwered a phone call.

that make any sense? lol

That makes perfect sense. Thank you.

So, the $20 texting package is really only worthwhile if you send 1000+ texts per month? Do... do people do that? :smileysurprised:

You can get the $10.00 text bundle and that gives you verizon to verizon unlimited texting  and $250 texts to other carriers and if you over the 250 it would be 02. cents per text sent and received.

Yes, people do.  My son and daughter are in the thousands each month (which is why we have unlimited for all of us).  And my niece (not on our plan, but on her family's plan) is like 10,000 a month.  She never stops....

"the $1.99 is for calls only." Username "DbG2514"

No not according to a person at a Verizon store I went to, and from a person I talked with on a Verizon support line (1-888-294-6804) today.

If you send a txt, the daily fee will be applied, if you recieve a txt it'll probably be applied as well, not sure on the receiving txts.

The guy at the Verizon store said that the daily fee wouldn't be applied if you just receive a txt but will be applied if you send 1 or more.

Can somebody who absolutely knows this stuff answer it once and for all?

Thank you

The calling plan information does not mention anything about DAF if you're only texting. But my gut feeling is that they'd charge you DAF plus the $0.02 per text. It's called Daily Access Fee for a reason, no?

Also,

Daily Access will be charged and deducted from your account only on days you make or receive calls and is valid until 11:59 p.m.

The above statement states that if you make a call at 8am, your DAF is good until 11.59pm the same day not until 8am the next day as someone mentioned here... (not quite 24 hrs it seems).
