changing to a new phone number

I would like to change my prepaid phone number to an area with cell towers. I live in a dead area with no service and unable to use my phone..Help please!  I would love to use my phone. I have a phone number in a neighboring state where family lives but still won't work here.

Does it not work or does the phone roam? If it does not work, changing your number will not help that. Whatever towers you dont hit now, you would still not hit.

Unfortunately even if you change your number you will not get better coverage. There could possibly not be a tower in your area and that is why you are not getting signal. Have you updated your device lately to see if you get any/better signal?

I'm trying to change my number. Possibly the area code also if I can. I'm moving from TN to south GA. I need to change b/c my ex has it and won't quit harrassing me. And he keeps using different numbers, so I can't just block him. Please help!

Just call in CS from another phone and have them switch the number. There may be a charge.

I do not know prepaid accounts can change their own number online but that may be an easier option.

Another reason why Spam Controls should be available for prepaid customers. You could always tell him you are contacting the police since he is harssing you. If he continues after that then mention that all calls and texts are being forward to the police. That should really freak him out.
