I'm not sure I understand.... I thought that "Anytime Minutes" Were for non-Verizon calls, whether to other carriers' mobile phones or landlines, 24/7.  If they are designated as "unlimited," then you do not pay a per-minute fee for them -- instead they are all included in the $50 monthly fee... Correct?

Now here's a possible "fly in the ointment"... What about "roaming" calls on this plan?  Is there such a thing; and if so, are they included, too, at no extra charge?  Also is "roaming" determined by from where the call *originates* (your own, i.e., the caller's location); or if the destination is out of the prepaid Verizon wireless coverage area? or both/either?  This has always confused me.

One time about a year or so ago, my sister and I were talking (we both had VZ prepaid wireless phones on the "Core" plan), as we customarily tended to do; and after a few minutes we got mysteriously cut off. When I tried to call her back, I heard a message that indicated she was out of wireless minutes.  This confused us, as although we knew her account was low (I think she had $2 left at the time), still it should have charged her the 99¢ daily access fee and no more.

So we called Verizon customer service (with my "patching her in" via landline, lol) and asked them what exactly she got charged for. The CSR said that we'd  been on "roaming," that there had been some upgrades to the towers in the area and that we would need to call *228 to update our phones' roaming capabilities.  That was the first we'd ever heard of such an option!  It especially surprised me, since I ~thought~ I'd configured my phone to disable roaming except for emergency 911 calls; as I didn't wish it to activate automatically (and unnoticed!), as it seemed to do in our case.  I'd much rather have the call dropped than incur 20¢/min. charges.

Fortunately the CSR was very nice and credited both our accounts; and with the *228 update (which Verizon recommends you access about once a month) we did not experience the problem again.

The unlimited benefits are contingent on the $50 being paid for. If you put in less than 50 but more than zero, you pay the Basic ($.25/min and $.20/text, $.99/day Mobile Web) plan rates for that smaller period. I'm surprised the site doesn't mention this.

Roaming is $.20 a minute on the $50 plan, it's like that for all prepaid plans at the present moment.

As Therealjohndoe stated, for your unlimited services you have to have $50.00 or more on your account when your plan is set to renew. If you do not, it is .25/min, .20/text, .99/mobile web for 24hrs. As for roaming, it is .20/min, and what roaming is, is your phone is talking (whether inbound call or outbound call doesn't matter) to another carriers tower. They then charge Verizon, and Verizon charges the flat rate of .20/min to you. Dialing *228 and choosing option 2 will update your Preferred Roaming List on your phone. Pretty much meaning downloading a list of VZW towers closest to you that your phone will try to reach first. Also, but not recommended, if you go into your phone settings, and then to System select, you can set your phone to Home Only, which means if it is not talking to a VZW tower, it will not work. Not recommended due to the poor service and signal strength you will get.

Verizon to Verizon mobile is only for mobile not for Landlines. If you on a contract then they have a certain about of minutes than can use free to a landline phone. But on the prepaid when they say mobile to mobile is free they mean mobile to mobile and no landlines are free.
