prepaid v. my plan

Why is a prepaid plan with unlimited everything $60 or $70 and my plan with unlimited talk and text with 2 gigs of data over $100?  Someone, Verizon, please explain how a customer for over 10 years isn't even able to get what a new customer gets?  I called and the rep told me "Sorry, there is nothing I can offer you at this time."

I'm out of here and going with Sprint this month.

Later!

gonebabygone,

Thank you for reaching out to us. We would be happy to explain the differences in the plan options. With the prepaid plan they too have the unlimited call and text plus either 1GB or 2GB between the $60 and $70 plan. There are many differences with prepaid as compared to postpaid. Prepaid has a limited amount of phones that can be used, and no 4g phones can be used with prepaid. So the service options are certainly lowered because of the difference in pricing. Post paid offers more options and changes that can be made so there is a standard premium to the overall cost. If prepaid works for you then you are more then able to take advantage of it, but we want to make sure you are aware of these differences.

Thank you,

A) The pre-paid plans are not unlimited everything. The $60 plan is for 2 GB of data and the $70 s for 4 GB.

B) Secondly the data you get with pre-paid is 3G. You don't get 4G data.

C) You're limited to 3G only phones. They are typically inferior to 4G phones. The "best" pre-paid device is the Moto G which pales in comparison to the LG G2 I just upgraded to which was free plus the $30 upgrade fee. The Moto G is $100.

So if you're interested in phones with specs that were cutting edge 3 or 4 years ago and don't mind 3G speeds by all means go with pre-paid. Also new customers aren't getting any special deals. Even if they do, so what? They are called PROMOS. Most companies do that to get new customers.

If Sprint is better for you then by all means go with them. I suspect if they were you would have already left.

But explain something to me if you will.

A) Pre-paid i get unlimited text and talk and 1gb of 3g Data for $50 correct?

B) My current contract plan is 450minutes. Unlimited Text (which i paid the extra 20 to get) and 75mb of non-3G data for $76 a month.

I am using a phone right now with that $76 dollar plan that came out in June of 2009. enV 3.

My crappy phone is on me and really not the issue. but if i hadnt paid the extra 20 to get unlimited text i wouldnt have unlimited anything and id be paying $6 dollars more. than the almost unlimited pre-paid.
