CNAM error

Hi,

I called Verizon wireless multiple times to resolve a CNAM issue I am having. I am a VZ Prepaid customer for 3+ years, previously a post paid customer for 21 years and this issue is disturbing to say the least. Whenever I call a TelMex provider my caller name shows as Manuel Cabral, not my name. It could be happening with other carriers but I was only able to confirm it is happening with TelMex. I have asked Verizon to please update their CNAM records and “push” the update to the other carriers, specifically TelMex. After 5+ hours spent with 2 live chats and 5 customer service reps it still has not been resolved. I realize the feature called “Shared Name” which uses the CNAM record is not available with the prepaid service but Verizon should not be sending incorrect names out in any case.

Can someone help? Short of switching from Verizon and porting my number to another carrier I am not sure what else can be done?

This is an uncommon issue and needs to have a ticket created and routed to the correct department before it can be fixed.  The first-string CSRs who answer the phones or live chats don't have the access rights to update the database.  I'm also wondering if the problem is on TelMex's side?
